Nerja and its beaches

Nerja is known for its pristine beaches and paradisiacal coves, being the beach of Calahonda known as the second most beautiful beach in Spain.

Cantarrijan beach

The naturist beach of Cantarrijan is located on the border with the province of Granada. A mixture of sand and stones, as in all the beaches and coves of the natural area of Los Acantilado de Maro. The area is strictly protected and during the busiest months the best option is to arrive by bus.

The water is exceptionally clean and its clarity and cleanliness has been the protagonist of several awards. As fishing is not allowed in this area (due to its state of protection), the waters around Cantarriján are full of fish. Diving here is one of the most recommended activities.

The beach can be divided into two sections. In the first, just in front of the two restaurants, there are those who practice nudism and who do not (optional). However, the second section of the beach is completely naturist. About 90% of people are naked.

Burriana beach

Located just 5 mins from the Hotel. Burriana is the busiest beach in Nerja that enjoys the best services and activities.

Here you can practice all kinds of water sports; jet skis, kayak tours, shuttle donuts or bananas, parachute flight powered by a speedboat…

A perfect place to spend the day and eat in one of its beach bars or restaurants. It has a promenade for walking and sunbeds along the entire beach.

Carabeo Beach

Small beach about 120 meters long, accessible on foot through an alley off of Carabeo street in its pedestrian part. One of the beaches of Nerja with more occupation since it has a special charm, since it is a cove embedded between cliffs and very sheltered from the wind.

Salon Beach

Located on the right of the “Balcón de Europa and about 200 meters long. Access on foot is through a small street near the “El Salvador” church, where it meets on the corner with Apartotel Toboso.

Old fishermen beach, now one of the most frequented beaches by Spanish tourists. It still retains those houses and sheds of these fishermen, houses that they use today as their summer home.

Calahonda beach

Beach of about 120 m. in length and approximately 20 in width. It is a beach with a high degree of occupation given its privileged location (in the center of Nerja). It has a pleasant sand of medium grain, dark color and a moderate swell.

To reach this cove its access is not difficult, although it is not adapted to disabled people, to reach the sand you have to go down a zig-zag ramp with steps.

Maro Beach

A spectacular cove located in the hamlet of Nerja, under the cliffs of the Sierra de Tejeda (Maro). Protected space and very good for water sports such as snorkeling, kayaking, paddle surfing with a calm and crystalline water not many kilometers from the town center, paradise in your hands…

Cañuelo Beach

Incredible beach located on the outskirts of Nerja (after Maro) with restricted access to vehicles in summer for its conservation. For summer access, there are several minibuses that make the round trip transfer from the beach to the N-340 road for a price of € 2 per person (round trip). It is a very clean beach, with crystal clear water that invites you to dive and get to know its abundant marine fauna and flora. Known for its numerous underwater caves.
